MALWARE & VIRUS TIP: More than 75% of all my service calls are due to problems caused by malware, including viruses. There are many fine applications available for download as freeware. These include AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 2011, Avast Free Antivirus and Microsoft Security Essentials. All of these are anti-malware suites that include an anti-virus module of the type that must not be installed with another (only one at a time). Another program that is free for home use is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. This software can be installed with any of the other three. I use the Microsoft suite with Malwarebytes on my systems.
